RESOLUTION

WHEREAS:
The Valli Vue Subdivision requires critical ditching and shoulder remediation to address ongoing safety, environmental, and aesthetic challenges. Improperly graded and over-excavated ditches, combined with inadequate shoulder restoration, have resulted in issues such as increased erosion, pooling water, and hazardous conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. These problems pose risks to public safety, property values, and compliance with stormwater management and drainage standards.
WHEREAS:
Effective ditching and shoulder restoration will provide numerous benefits to the community, including improved drainage, reduced erosion, enhanced neighborhood aesthetics, and safer conditions for all residents and visitors. Such remediation will help protect the longevity of the subdivision's infrastructure while fostering a more cohesive and visually appealing community environment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The Valli Vue Property Owners Association fully supports the Valli Vue LRSA’s efforts to prioritize and execute ditch remediation projects in the subdivision through funds from this CAPSIS application, if approved. The Association advocates for the following objectives to guide these efforts:
Shoulder Restoration: Use durable and structurally sound materials to create safe and stable edges for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, reducing risks posed by uneven or loose surfaces.
Ditch Improvements: Reduce ditch depths where feasible to balance effective drainage with safety and visual appeal, preventing hazardous conditions and mitigating long-term erosion.
Landscaping and Stabilization: Apply topsoil and hydroseeding with high-quality grass to improve stability, minimize erosion, and enhance the visual character of the neighborhood.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all work adheres to applicable local and state standards for drainage, stormwater management, and environmental stewardship, protecting the community from potential regulatory or environmental penalties.
This resolution highlights the necessity of addressing these issues to protect and improve the quality of life for all Valli Vue residents. Remediating the ditches and shoulders will strengthen the subdivision's infrastructure, safeguard property values, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for years to come.
